New Wisconsin Poll on Iraq

A poll released Wednesday says fewer Wisconsinites asked about the war in Iraq think it's a success.

Thirty-one percent of those polled in late April call the war a success, down from 39 percent in March.

The poll is sponsored by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and The Capital Times of Madison. It's based on a random sample of 511 adults questioned by the UW Survey Center.

The results have a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.

Pollster Donald Ferree says Republicans are overwhelmingly supportive of the rationale and conduct of the war, but Democrats are divided on the topic.
