A suspected bank robber shot and killed himself early Thursday as La Crosse police and the FBI confronted him at a local hotel.
Authorities got a search warrant after their investigation led them to the hotel. About 1:30 this morning officers entered the suspect's room. The man was armed with a gun and turned the weapon on himself.
Authorities believe the man robbed the First Federal Bank in North La Crosse Wednesday afternoon. A suspect walked into the bank, told the teller he had a gun and demanded money. The teller handed over the cash and the man left. He made no attempt to conceal his identity from the surveillance camera.
