Western wisconsin lost another soldier to the war in Iraq. A roadside bomb killed a Prescott High School graduate Thursday, May 17th.

The Department of Defense confirmed 31-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Jesse B. Albrecht died after an I.E.D. hit his vehicle in iraq. Two other soldiers were killed in that explosion. His family tells me he'd served in the army since high school and was based in Alaska with the 725th brigade support battalion.
>
Albrecht is survived by his wife, 11 year old daughter, parents and 7 siblings. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1994. He most recently called New Richmond home where he came to visit family. His sister says Jesse was a fun-loving soul and she tried not to think about losing him in the war.
>
Kathie Sylte, Albrecht's sister, says, "I think its everybody's fear, for me personally, it's one of those things I guess I knew it could happen, but you always think yes it could happen but it won't happen to us."
>
Albrecht's funeral is planned for Saturday, May 26th at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Glenwood City. He is the 74th Wisconsin troop to die fighting the War on Terror in Iraq. His sister says the best thing people can do is keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
