Tourism Week Kicks Off

With Wisconsin's beautiful scenery and wildlife, it's no surprise that we're a tourism hotspot.

Last year, tourists spent nearly $12 billion in the state. This year, those with the Department of Tourism are hoping for even more.

This summer, Wisconsin will play host to the PGA Championship in Sheboygan, the Grand Excursion on the Mississippi River, and the Great Outdoor Games in Madison. Locally, a few events in the Chippewa Valley include the usual music festivals, plus a Harley Rally and Stihl Timbersports competition.

Linda John with the Chippewa Valley Visitors Bureau says the combination of new events, with the usual festivals and events, will bring in millions to western Wisconsin.
