A funeral service was held in Kenosha Wednesday for a veteran sheriff's deputy shot to death during a traffic stop last week.
>
Frank Fabiano Jr., 48, was an 18-year veteran with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department and had won many honors over his career.
>
He was making a traffic stop when he was shot in the face and killed. A man charged with the crime was arrested after a manhunt.
>
Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth delivered an emotional eulogy for his slain deputy. Beth told the deputy's widow and his 7-year-old daughter that Fabiano's spirit will remain with them always, no matter what they're doing. And, Beth told the officers that Fabiano will always be their backup; he stood for what is right.
>
Hundreds of squads that stretched for 5 miles helped escort the deputy's casket to Sunset Ridge Cemetery where he will be buried.
