Man Arrested in Eau Claire Standoff Appears In Court
The Wausau man arrested after a standoff at the Quality Inn hotel in Eau Claire is expected to be formally charged Wednesday.

The Wausau man arrested after a standoff at the Quality Inn hotel in Eau Claire is expected to be formally charged Wednesday.

Kevin Kuhn, 28, appeared in Eau Claire County court Wednesday morning.

During the initial appearance, Judge Benjamin proctor set his bail at 50,000 cash. Kuhn’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29th.

On Monday, police responded to the hotel where officers say Kuhn claimed to have a weapon and was holding a woman hostage in one of the rooms. After almost a 6 hour-long standoff, a SWAT team used a stun grenade and stormed in the room. He was captured without injury and the woman was also unharmed.
