Morning-After Pill Hotline

The state's network of family planning clinics is now making the morning-after pill readily available to women through a new hotline.

The Wisconsin Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association has set up a toll-free phone number that connects with nurses at a Wausau clinic run by family planning health services.

The nurses then direct callers to a family planning clinic nearest to them, or arrange for a prescription by phone.

The pill can also be mailed overnight, if the caller lives too far out of reach.

Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration decided against allowing the morning-after pill to be sold over the counter.
