Officials at UW-Eau Claire are warning everyone on campus that a student has Meningococcal Disease.

It says the student, who lives off campus, is being treated at an Eau Claire hospital and is responding well to medical treatment.

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has identified the students who came in close contact with the individual, treated them with antibiotics. None of the individuals show signs of the disease.

Symptoms of Meningococcal Disease include a severe headache, vomiting and fever.
