Teens active in Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) and Arrive Alive were honored by local law enforcement for their work to help influence positive choices among their peers.

Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager went along on the train ride and to applaud the efforts of the students.

"Telling kids that it's really dumb to get behind the wheel of a car and drive drunk is an important message to convey and I think, given my personal experiences," says Lautenschlager. "It's important for me to say that out loud to them."

Law enforcement officials say programs like today's ride help cut down on car versus train fatalities.

Operation: Lifesaver and Union Pacific participated in the events.
