An area high school band member says marching in Thursday's Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was an amazing experience.
North senior Vicki Shoemaker just got back to Eau Claire Friday. Thursday, she played piccolo in a band of more than 200 musicians in New York.
She says she was in the state honor band 2 years ago. Because of that, she got a letter asking her to audition and another last summer saying she was in.
Shoemaker says she's hoping to go to a music school in Illinois to study to be a band director.
