(Eau Claire) May 14, 2004 - Dennis Berry was sentenced in Eau Claire County Court on Friday morning.
Last month, he was found guilty of one felony count of theft for receiving about $60,000 in illegal compensation from a local business.
Prosecutors say Berry arranged to be issued checks by a secretary for Indianhead Construction, even though he never worked there. He was also convicted of four counts of forgery for falsifying records that showed he fulfilled community service for an earlier conviction related to violations as a landlord.
Berry was sentenced to serve nine months in jail, with Huber privileges. He's required to serve 10 years probation, and pay back the money he received.
