The Onalaska police department is looking for a new chief.

On Tuesday night, police chief Randy Williams announced his retirement in a closed door meeting.
>
Mayor James Bialecki says Williams will retire because of undisclosed medical reasons. Bialecki says the city worked out a mediation agreement with Williams and Tuesday night’s meeting was just a formality.
>
Captain Tim Houser is the interim chief.
