While shoppers are out spending money on their holiday gifts, they're also donating money as they head out the doors.
The Salvation Army says the weekend after Thanksgiving is it’s second biggest weekend for giving during its Red Kettle Campaign.
Captain R.C. Duskin says the biggest is right before Christmas.
Saturday, outside this Wal-Mart in Eau Claire, many gave handfuls of change or dollar bills. Duskin says every little bit is needed in these tough economic times, "There's a need that is greater than it has been in the past and so this is where we raise the most of our money."
Duskin says the Salvation Army still needs volunteers to help ring bells this holiday season.
