A 65-year-old man is dead after a two vehicle crash in Eau Claire on Monday.
It happened near the 3600 block of South Hastings Way. The Eau Claire Police Department says the vehicle driven by the man was northbound on the Highway 53 on-ramp from Golf Road. The vehicle traveled off the roadway through the ditch onto the frontage road of 3619 South Hastings Way, hitting another vehicle.
The man was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The department will release his name later, pending family notification. Officers say the cause of the crash may have been due to the man suffering a medical condition. The driver of the second vehicle was not taken to the hospital.
The frontage road is now open to all traffic.
