Interest in the Eau Claire community is brewing to create a charter school to cater to students with a penchant for the arts.
Retired Eau Claire teacher Jo Ellen Burke will be presenting her ideas to create a creative arts-based charter school for 6th through 12th graders Monday night at the Eau Claire School Board meeting.
Burke says there is an increasing awareness in how kids learn. She says her charter school would focus on the needs of some students who could do better in a different learning structure
Burke says the purpose of Monday night’s meeting is to inform the board and hopefully in the future can apply for a planning grant to plan the future of the charter school.
