Professor in Court

A former University of Wisconsin Stout professor pleaded no contest and was fined today, in connection with helping students make master keys for college buildings.

Fifty-two-year-old John S. Burningham was charged with felony misconduct.

He appeared in Dunn County Circuit Court Friday for his involvement in the incident where two students made unauthorized copies of master keys for the college's buildings.

Because Burningham paid $5,000 in restitution to Stout and resigned from his position, Judge Smeltzer fined Burningham $430 in court costs.
