The Bloomer Police Department will soon be sharing dispatch duties.
Bloomer Chief Richard Carr says their department and the Chippewa County Sheriffs Department have been working on the switch for months.
The sheriffs department has completely taken care of fire and medical calls for awhile now. Friday night, Chippewa County will cover the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift, the beginning of the transition from city to county.
Carr says by the first of the year everything will be switched to county.
