Hayward's Future
Hayward has a bright future ahead and it's all because of the education system.

All week we've been talking about our town Hayward and we end by talking about it's future, the future of the students who will make up the community of tomorrow.
>
That future starts in the school system, Hayward Community School District superintendent Michael Cox says Hayward has a student population just shy of 2000, and a level of community support he hasn't found anywhere else.
>
That support even extends to financial matters, because at a time when many schools are facing mass layoffs or program cuts, Hayward has been spared. Still, Cox says the district is not without difficulties.
>
"We have some challenges here too, we have challenges with a fairly high number of people in poverty and you might not think so if you just drive up and down Main Street," Cox said.
>
Despite that Cox says the school system has been successful, 80 percent of last year's graduating class are continuing their education at two or four-year universities.
