Wisconsin residents are undergoing surgery after a crash in Southern Europe.

Thirty-four people were on a tour and pilgrimage to a shrine in southern Bosnia when their bus veered to avoid a jack-knifed semi. The bus plunged into a ravine outside Sarajevo on Monday.

Thirty-three of those on the bus were from Wisconsin. Most are from the Milwaukee Archdiocese.

A prayer vigil was held last night in Pewaukee.

Andy Meier, from Trinity Academy in Pewaukee, was one of three people who suffered more serious injuries. He's in critical condition in a Sarajevo hospital.
