There's been a shifting of top officials in three area prisons because of complaints about how two leaders at the Jackson Correctional Institution at Black River Falls handled staff issues. The warden, Tom Karlen and the security director Randy Berz, are under investigation for how they handled complaints that other staff members engaged in sexual harassment and discrimination against other staff members. The state corrections spokesman Bill Clausius says they are conducting a thorough review of the claims. Karlen has been transferred to become deputy warden at the new treatment facility in Chippewa Falls. Berz is temporarily reassigned to the Stanley Prison. And Stanley's deputy warden, Randy Hepp, will become the new warden at Black River Falls.
