MONDOVI, Wis. (WEAU) -- High school students from Pepin and Buffalo Counties got a small taste of reality Thursday at Mondovi High School.
It was the 7th annual UW-Extension Reality Check event.
It gives students the chance to make simulated life choices and see what might happen.
One part of the event asks the students to try and make ends meet using the projected pay of their career choice.
'They're also learning a new concept called "frugal" - of thinking before you spend money and knowing how much money you have and buying what you need first before buying the things you really like to have," Mary Wood with UW-Extension.
This year's event also included a true-to-life prison cell from the Jackson Co. Correctional Institute, including volunteer wardens from the Dept. of Corrections.
