Two bird species in Wisconsin have been removed from the state Endangered and Threatened Species List.
The DNR says efforts to restore the trumpeter swan and osprey were successful. The number of breeding pairs increased nearly 100% over the last five years.
Trumpeter swans had disappeared from Wisconsin because of market hunting and feather collecting. Shooting and an expanding human population eliminated ospreys.
