Deputies say a 9-year-old is dead after being hit by a van Saturday afternoon.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says the boy was snowboarding in his grandparent’s yard off County Highway P in the Town of Curran.
Investigators say he went onto the road and was hit by the van driven by a 19-year-old Taylor man.
The boy was visiting his grandparent’s home for the holidays.
Mayo One was called to take the boy to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire where he was pronounced dead just after 1:30 in the afternoon.
The crash remains under investigation.
