Chippewa Falls street department workers taking early retirement incentives
Five street department workers in Chippewa Falls are taking early retirement incentives to help save on budget costs.

Five street department workers in Chippewa Falls are taking early retirement incentives to help save on budget costs.
Street Department Manager Glen Zwiefelhofer says the deal was offered to workers over 60. He says it will prevent layoffs and give the workers compensation until they are 65. He says they took care of snow removal and were all heavy equipment operators who did a little bit of everything.
The department will fill the voids by using people from other departments. Zwiefelhofer says there will be no new hires.
