Sheriff James L. Kowalczyk is pleased to announce the recent recruitment and hiring of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department’s Jail Captain Arthur W. Crews. Captain Crews is replacing the retiring Captain Jim Jerebek, and he will begin his duties with the Sheriff’s Department on January 4, 2010.

Captain Crews’ education and varied experience working with incarcerated individuals, and management of correctional facilities will be a great asset to Chippewa County and the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department.

Captain Crews, a Kansas native, graduated from LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Criminal Justice Management and has gained his experience as a warden in correctional facilities in the southern United States, seven years of experience as a Jail Captain for Yakima County Washington, and most recently as a Captain with the State of Oregon’s Department of Corrections.

“I am pleased to have an employee of Captain Crew’s experience and knowledge join the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department,” Kowalczyk said.
