The new movie theatre in Chippewa Falls opened for business Friday night, but was then shut down before any movies could play.
The crew worked for two days straight trying to get the Chippewa Falls theatre ready for opening night Friday night, but in the end their hard work fell just a little short.
Yesterday afternoon the owner was told by the city building inspector that a permit would not be granted.
Chippewa Falls Mayor Doug Sandvick said, hours later, a fire inspector came and approved certian aspects of the work, but the owner may have misinterpreted that to mean they'd passed the overall inspection.
So the customers had to be turned out.
Sandvick says the city inspector's office doesn't operate on weekends, so it's not likely the theatre will open before Monday.
