A Black River Falls woman will be spending two months behind bars after committing disability benefits fraud.
Thirty-two year-old Lisa Miller was sentenced by a U.S. District Judge Friday to two months in prison.
She pleaded guilty in November and admitted to making false statements to the Social Security Administration to try and get disability benefits.
According to a release by the U.S. Attorney for Western Wisconsin, the judge in charge of Miller's case found that Miller had a history of fraud related offenses, including two convictions for check fraud and had been charged with two state fraud felonies in 2008.
The judge said she was sentencing Miller to prison because it seemed she needed a 'wake-up call.’
