A Chippewa Falls man is charged after investigators say he strangled his mother.
According to the criminal complaint, 46-year-old Dale Riley was staying at his parents house in New Auburn on December 19. It says Riley was in the kitchen with his 71-year-old mother when he jumped off a chair and grabbed her by the throat. The complaint says he then threw her down to the floor. Riley's father heard the commotion and called 911.
The complaint says Riley's mother did not receive medical attention. It says Riley had also once threatened to kill his father with a hatchet. Online court records show Riley is out on a signature bond.
