A county committee talked about how it would pay for a public shooting range Tuesday night.
The Eau Claire County Committee on Parks and Forest heard from the DNR Tuesday night, because if the county makes the current sheriff's department shooting range public, it could get a grant. If the county approves the Fall Creek site, the DNR would pay $50,000 to turn it into a public range.
Last week people voiced their concerns about noise, traffic and litter at the site. No action was taken Tuesday, the committee plans to talk about it February 9.
