J.R. Bement's Heart Benefit

By  |

J.R. Bement was diagnosed with familial cardiomyopathy in 1997, but recently has struggled with the condition, which causes the heart to enlarge. He spent 50 days in the hospital and is now on a waiting list for a heart transplant.

A benefit hosted by family and friends to help the Bement family with medical bills is taking place this weekend at the Hide-a-way Bar in Augusta. The event will begin around 2:00 p.m. and will feature dinner, beverages, and entertainment, including three live bands for a donation of $15 per person.

There will also be door prizes awarded and raffles for items like a fishing boat and motor, an autographed Packer's helmet, and Packer's tickets.

For directions, call 286-5290.

There has also been an account called "The Heart Benefit Fund" set up at the Bank of Augusta-Pigeon Falls Branch for donations.
