The former Sawyer County Sheriff's Deputy facing charges of sexual assault is out of jail Monday night.
Court records show 59-year-old Robert Whyte from Hayward is charged with four felonies, including two counts of 3rd degree sexual assault and two counts of misconduct in the office.
The criminal complaint shows two women say Whyte told them to have sex with him or they'd get into trouble. Court records show Whyte was in uniform when he had sex with the women. One woman told investigators he said he would get her license revoked and she would lose her child if she didn't. The other woman says Whyte responded to a break-in at her house and after finding drug paraphernalia, said she could either go to jail or have sex with him.
Whyte left the jail Monday on a $25,000 signature bond. There's another court hearing on March 23.
