UPDATE:
Keith Jonathan at City of Eau Claire Housing Authority says it is taking a look at the property with an insurance assessor to go over the damage. The city’s insurance will cover the renovations to the property. The tenants who live on the other side of the duplex may be able to move in again in the next few days, because there was not any major damage. Keith says it’s probably just some smoke infiltration that will need to be cleaned. In the meantime, the Hmong Assistance Association is helping the family in whose apartment the fire started to find temporary housing. No word yet if they will return to the same apartment or not in the future.

There’s still no cause determined.
