The City of Altoona is moving forward with creating a new municipal court.
Thursday night the city council voted to move forward with drafting an ordinance to create the court. The city attorney says the municipal court will provide the same services as the county circuit court, but at a cheaper price.
Once the ordinance is drafted the council will have to approve it. The municipal court could be up and running, by sometime this spring.
