Toddler Drowns In Chippewa County
A toddler drowned in a pond in Chippewa County last night after finding an opening in the fence around it.

A toddler drowned in a pond in Chippewa County last night after finding an opening in the fence around it.

Eugene Gutsch of the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department says the family reported they were missing their 2-year-old son, Jacob Perry, around six last night at County Highway F in the Township of Sampson near New Auburn.

They found the child in a pond adjacent to the yard about 15 minutes after he went missing. CPR was started by the parents who are members of the New Auburn Fire Department.

The boy was flown to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
