Semi Trailer Truck Crash

Jackson County rescue crews have recovered a second victim from the crash of a semi truck that left the interstate in Jackson County and fell into the Black River Monday Morning.

Black River Falls Police Chief Donald Gilberg says Robert J. Marks Sr, 36, of Milwaukee was killed in the crash, along with his son, Robert J. Marks, Jr., 7.
Crews worked throughout the day to recover the wreckage of the semi that was submerged in the river. A heavy crane was called in to pull the semi from the river and during this operation, officials say the boy's body was discovered.
The semi was westbound on Interstate 94 at Black River Falls when it crossed through the median, through a guardrail and 40 to 50 feet down a steep embankment into the river.
Chief Gilberg says authorities were alerted about 5:50 Monday morning by a cell phone caller.
