A rural Gilmanton woman has lost her appeal that she should be eventually eligible for parole even though she was sentenced to life in prison for shooting death of her husband.

The higher court ruled that the presiding judge propertly determined that Linda Lacey was a danger to the community and the public requiring her to be confined for the rest of her life.

Lacey shot and killed Thomas Lacey outside his rural Gilmanton home 15 times in September, 2001. She also shot her ex-husband's new wife, Katina, once in the shoulder. Gilimanton is located in northern Buffalo County. She was convicted by a La Crosse county jury convicted her of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
