Submerged Semi

The State Patrol says it's been unable to recover the travel log of the Milwaukee trucker who plunged his rig into the Black River.

Officials say the log wasn't in the cab of the truck after it was pulled from the water and most likely drifted away in the river. It would have told investigators how long Robert Marks had been on the road before the semi left I-94 and crashed into the river, killing the driver and his seven-year-old son.

Marks was reportedly heading to Chippewa Falls to pick up a load. A debriefing has been planned in Jackson County on Wednesday for anyone involved in the recovery effort with counselors on hand.
