On Saturday, plenty of Wisconsin residents will play the Powerball lottery, but there's an even bigger jackpot somewhere else on Saturday that will encourage a new round of thieves.
It's the twice-a-year "El Gordo" Lottery in Spain, which will pay out $171,000,000, but it will also create a new round of victims for scam artists.
Letters have been sent out to people saying they've won the El Gordo lottery, but it's a scam, because they ask for money and your bank account information.
It's also a federal offense for U.S. residents to buy foreign lottery tickets.
It you get any mail saying you've won a prize, but asks for money or any personal information don’t do it.
Instead call the consumer protection agency at 1-800-422-7128 to report the scam.
