A new poll released Friday says three in five Wisconsin residents think President Bush's performance in handling the situation in Iraq is "poor" to "fair."
The Badger Poll says 39%, or just under two in five residents, rated his performance on Iraq as "good" or "excellent." The president was rated at 54% with good or excellent marks for handling the war on terrorism, while 24% rated his performance as poor to fair.
The poll was conducted the week before the transfer of sovereignty to the Iraqis. The poll involved 504 Wisconsin residents, and was funded jointly by the Madison Capital Times and Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel newspapers.
