Eau Claire Police say a man robbed the RCU branch at 1049 W. Clairemont Avenue in the ShopKo Plaza off Clairemont just after 2 p.m. this afternoon.
>
Officers say a man walked in, showed a teller a black semi-automatic gun and demanded money.
>
Sgt. Andy Falk with the Eau Claire Police Department says the man was in and out of the building within a couple minutes.
>
Sgt. Falk would not disclose how much money the robber got away with.>
He says there were about seven employees and two customers in the building when it happened. Sgt. Falk says it all happened so fast some of those people didn't even know there was a robbery.
>
"The one customer next to him didn't even realize what had what happened, so when we talked to her she was not aware the robbery had just taken place," Falk says.
>
The Eau Claire County Crisis Unit was also on hand talking to workers and witnesses after such a traumatic event.
>
"They're alright for the time being. Some times with trauma, it won't affect them until a while later," Falk says.
>
Now, police hope what was caught on camera will help solve this crime.
>
"You think that if you have a videotape shot of someone, that you kind of have the game won," Falk says. "But a lot of times, because of camera angles and lighting and obstruction and things of that nature, the video tape doesn't always solve the case for you."
