A legislative panel considering whether to expel Independent Assemblyman, Jeff Wood of Chippewa Falls, is scheduled to meet Tuesday.

The Special Ethics Committee will hear testimony from the plan's only sponsor, Republican Steve Nass of Whitewater. Committee members say they were upset Nass didn't show up to a public hearing on the plan earlier this month. Nass is expected to testify Tuesday.
They say they have questions for Nass and say Wood and his attorney should be able to cross-examine him.

Representative Jeff Smith told us Wood suffers from a health issue and doesn't think the commitee should make any decisions on Wood's future until they hear from Nass.

"In this country, our justice system is centered around the fact that the accused gets to face their accuser and in the last meeting of that committee, that did not happen," says Smith.

Steve Nass says he was never invited to the last hearing and was dealing with family matters at the time.
