Census forms have started to arrive at more than 120 million homes across the country.
Census workers are hoping for a higher return than in 2000, when about 73 percent of households mailed their forms back to the government. So they've made them easier to fill out.
Gregg Moore, chairman of the Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors, says it’s important for people to complete the forms. People who don't mail back their forms will get a knock on the door from a census worker.
Every percentage point of forms not mailed back costs the government $85 million.
