Former Governor Thompson was in town Friday afternoon on a campaign stop for his brother.
His brother, Ed Thompson, is running for Wisconsin State Senate's, 31st District. While Ed's campaign continues, one question on a lot of voters minds is will the former governor run for the Wisconsin Senate race. Thompson says, "I certainly think the country needs new direction and I think I could do a good job if I did run. I'm very confident I could help turn the country around."
The former governor was also the secretary of Health and Human Services during the Bush administration.
