Firefighters say if you see flames at Eau Claire Gas Company the next few days, don't panic, they're on purpose.
Eau Claire Fire Inspector Gary Puljas says Lakes Gas Company on Western Avenue needs to re-pipe a 30,000 gallon propane tank. While the liquid can be pumped out, propane vapor will have to be burned off. He says a vertical torch will burn the excess vapors starting tomorrow morning, and it could last several days.
Puljas says the company will put up a sign to let people know there's no emergency, so they don't call 911.
