GOP Courting Amish Votes

By  |

The Republican Party has spread its campaign to one segment of the population generally ignored by presidential hopefuls.

Experts believe only about three percent of Amish ever make it to the polls, but that those who do choose to vote usually throw their support behind the GOP.

Republican strategists hope to expand their voting base among Amish citizens by encouraging supporters to help get out the vote in areas with heavy Amish populations.

The majority of the nation's Amish population live in the critical swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
