MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A prosecutor says she has no plans to reduce an operating under the influence charge against state Rep. Jeff Wood stemming from his arrest near Wausau in September.
Wood told colleagues earlier this month he expected the charge in the case to be reduced after a state laboratory report showed the prescription drugs in his system were within therapeutic range. However, the report found he had several times the amount of an active ingredient in cough syrup than recommended. He did not have alcohol in his system.
Marathon County assistant district attorney Kala Strawn says she met with Wood's attorney on Monday to discuss the case. She says they plan to meet again on April 26, but she's not planning to amend the charge yet.
