A Rice Lake Company that works with Green Wood Fibers got more green to work with on Monday.

Great Lakes Renewable Energy, Inc. got a 25,000 dollar state grant. The start up company will use the money to develop renewable energy from wood fiber. The company plans to build a manufacturing facility in Northwest Wisconsin. That plant would turn wood fiber into pellets to heat homes and businesses.

The state says since 1989, these ag based grants have generated more than 600 jobs and more than 400 new products in the past.
