Crash Investigation Findings

Chippewa Country authorities have completed their investigation into a recent car crash near Boyd that killed two 18-year-old women.

They have determined the driver crashed the car intentionally, after leaving a suicide note about an intimate relationship between the two.

Officials say Kristin Spaeth wrote the note that spelled out her intent to crash was a result of pressure to end a relationship with her passenger, Lacy Westaby.

They were found in a wrecked car in the early morning hours of July 30. Both women were recent graduates of Stanley Boyd High School.
