The petitions are circulating around the state to add Ralph Nader as the Independent candidate to the ballot for the Presidential race.

Nader needs 2,000 valid signatures before September 14 to have his name listed on the ballot for this November's election.

The coordinator for Nader's Wisconsin campaign says despite some hostility from those who don't want Nader on the ballot, the petitions are circulating.

"We're off to a good start. We have volunteers around the state that are collecting signatures and want to see an anti-war candidate and a candidate that's for working people in this country," says Bill Linville.

Nader received more than 94,000 votes in the 2000 election. Some Democrats feel that Nader's candidacy is a threat to John Kerry by pulling votes from the Democratic nominee.
