Progress on Highway 53 Project
Wisconsin's Department of Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi toured U.S. Highway 53 construction Wednesday morning.
Crews are paving the northern section of 53 between the North Crossing and "OO" in Chippewa County.
A new state of the art concrete paver is helping the project move along swiftly.
D.O.T. officials say the entire freeway is scheduled to be open to traffic in the fall of 2006.
